Hello

I'm Nicole Welling! I got my start in endurance sports when I was just 6 years old. I grew up swimming competitively, continuing my swimming career to the Junior National Level through High School. I began racing triathlons in college and started racing professionally when I graduated in 2012. I earned my Bachelor's of Science in Nutrition Science with a minor in Chemistry and began my triathlon career with this knowledge to support my growth. I raced draft legal style sprint and olympic distance triathlons internationally until 2018. A few highlights were a podium finish at a Continental Cup in Barbados, a top 15 finish in Monterrey, Mexico at a Continental Championship, and representing the United States at the World University Games during my graduate studies.

After my racing career was over, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to assistant coach at Arizona State University. The NCAA movement for Women's Triathlon was just beginning and I was fortunate to be involved in the inception of the program at ASU. I coached alongside head coach, Cliff English from 2019 until the beginning of 2023. It was an invaluable experience and informs a lot of my style of coaching. You have to be adaptive when coaching college athletes - they have so many factors weighing in their lives other than just sport and are trying to race and train at the highest level. I believe this kind of care and consideration should be a part of coaching at all levels, balancing training and life is difficult no matter how long it takes you to cross the finish line!

Vision

My goal with Nicole Welling Endurance is to guide my athletes to the finish lines of their dreams. Life is a challenge, and selecting your own mountains to climb (literally and figuratively) is an empowering feeling. There is nothing like the daily accomplishment of finishing your training session and stringing together weeks and weeks of those accomplishments to cross the finish line you've been working towards. I have found so much joy and release in my training over the years, it is such a pivotal part of my life, I can't wait to help you build health and fitness into yours.
